Here's How it Works:

  • On Friday a week before the hackathon weekend, participants gather on zoom to brainstorm projects together and form teams. If you have an idea for a project already, you can propose it here.
  • On Saturday and Sunday, teams must prepare a prototype of their project and presentation outlining their project idea.
  • On Sunday evening, all teams present their project prototypes. All participants vote on their favorite projects. Projects that receive the most votes will become a subgroup of the Eco Actions Club. Other prizes will be awarded based on creativity, completeness, and impact.

FAQ

  • I have never programmed before. Can I still participate?

Yes!

  • Do I have to be a CERN user to participate?

No. All are welcome!

  • I can't be present for the whole event. Can I still participate?

Yes, just be sure to discuss this with your team.

  • How many people can be on a team?

A "team" is 1-8 people. If you want to work alone, feel free!

  • I have an idea for a project that is not based on the main topic. Can I work on it anyway?

Yes, if you have an idea focused on sustainability and the environment you are still welcome to pursue it.

  • Do all projects need to be code-based?

No, your project can be based on whatever you like. However, if you need to meet in person to build your prototype you need to work that out with your team.

  • I have a friend I would like on my team. How do I ensure this?

Please indicate their names on the registration form and be sure they sign up.
